Our founders

The charity was founded in 2008 by friends Jayne Evans and Marilyn Grundrill. with the idea of raising money to enhance recreational facilities used by all age groups throughout the community of Pangbourne, with the help of local businesses and the community. Jayne had led the Friends of Pangbourne Primary School to raise over £70,000 for the school within a 5 year period but with fewer and fewer parents being able to afford the time to help at events she found herself calling for help from friends within the village more and more and felt that raising money for the village was more appropriate with many local people willing to offer their services,

Jayne and Marilyn have 5 children between them, with ages ranging from 7 to 24, with one or the other of them having gone through Pangbourne Day Nursery, Pangbourne Playgroup, Pangbourne Primary School, Pangbourne College and St Andrews school between them.

Jayne arrived in the village 22 years ago to start a courier business which ran successfully from a spare bedroom above Mallows (now OneStop) and then large premises to the left and rear of Mountain High, now known as Saxon Place.

Marilyn has been in the village for over 30 years and you will be able to find out all about her here very soon - so please come back to read more!
